AUSTIN PENDLETON (Director) is known as an actor, director, and playwright. He received a 2007 Drama Desk award - A Renaissance Man of the American Theater. His third play, ORSON'S SHADOW premiered at the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago and enjoyed an off-Broadway run. Pendleton has directed numerous productions including the Broadway production of THE LITTLE FOXES with Elizabeth Taylor, SAY GOODNIGHT, GRACIE, THE RUNNER STUMBLES, TOYS IN THE ATTIC at the Pearl Theater and UNCLE VANYA for the Classic Stage Company. Mr. Pendleton has also directed at the prestigious Steppenwolf Theatre and the Williamstown Theatre Festival. His acting career includes the Broadway original cast productions of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, HAIL SCRAWDYKE, DOUBLES and the Lincoln Center and Broadway revivals of DIARY OF ANNE FRANK and THE LITTLE FOXES, directed by Mike Nichols. In 2006 he appeared in MOTHER COURAGE in the Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park and in 2007 he appeared in their production of ROMEO AND JULIET. Off-Broadway appearances include EDUCATING RITA, OH DAD, POOR DAD, THE LAST SWEET DAYS OF ISAAC, and SOPHISTRY. Mr. Pendleton's film roles are as diverse as A BEAUTIFUL MIND, MY COUSIN VINNY, FINDING NEMO, and most recently WALL STREET 2. Television appearances include: LAW AND ORDER, SVU, HOMICIDE, OZ, FRASER, AMERICAN DREAMER, MIAMI VICE, and ST. ELSEWHERE. Mr. Pendleton's first published play BOOTH starred Frank Langella and played at the Long Wharf Theatre as well as Off-Broadway. His second play UNCLE BOB, was originally produced at the Mint Theatre in New York. His musical A MINISTER'S WIFE (adapted from Shaw's play CANDIDA and co-written with Josh Schmidt and Jan Tranen) will open next spring at the Mitzi Newhouse Theatre at Lincoln Center.
